Mia of Margate use Scrummi, who are a vegan disposable towel and gown company. They are the first disposable towel brand to be certified compostable and now carry the seedling logo. The towels are made from soft and natural wood fibres from sustainable forestry programs and the gowns are made from the same material as food-caddy bin liners.

The energy used in the entire lifecycle of a Scrummi disposable towel including its manufacture is less than the energy used by a washing machine to clean one single cotton hairdressing towel.

Scrummi hairdressing towels are all produced in Europe!

So wherever possible we aim to reduce our carbon footprint when organising transport and shipping.

Our Scrummi hairdressing towels start life as either eucalyptus or cedar trees in central Europe. They are harvested from Sustainable Forestry programmes, where for every one tree that is harvested 3 trees are planted in its place.

Once the towels are in the UK we deliver to our customers via DPD. DPD also have a carbon neutral commitment with over 5 million parcels now transported on alternative energy vehicles.

All Scrummi products are 100% biodegradable, they contain no hidden plastics.

Scrummi waffle products will biodegrade in about 100 days in an anaerobic environment. This is comparable to an orange peel! Which also means, by the time your next haircut is due it would have decomposted!

Scrummi waffle products are 100% cellulosic so will act like wood or paper in many environments.
